Gemma & Adam’s Wedding at Smugglers Creek Inn, Donegal

Gemma & Adam chose one of the most breathtaking spots along the Wild Atlantic Way for their wedding day — the beautiful Smugglers Creek Inn overlooking Rossnowlagh Beach. With the Atlantic rolling in below and the Blue Stack Mountains stretching out in the distance, it’s the kind of setting that makes a Donegal wedding feel truly special.

Their ceremony took place at St Francis of Assisi Chapel on Drumnabey Road in Castleberg, a lovely church surrounded by the quiet Donegal countryside. Family and friends gathered to witness Gemma & Adam exchange their vows in a heartfelt ceremony filled with warmth and emotion.

On the way to the reception, we made a quick stop at Biddy’s O’Barnes, a well-known landmark along the road to Donegal. It was the perfect little pause in the day — a chance for Gemma & Adam to take a breath together while capturing a few relaxed portraits with the Donegal landscape around them.

Afterwards, everyone made their way to Smugglers Creek Inn, a venue full of character and history. First opening its doors in 1907, the inn blends rustic charm with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. With its cosy interiors, nautical touches, and the glass-fronted conservatory overlooking the Atlantic, it’s the perfect place for couples who want an intimate and personal wedding celebration.

Guests enjoyed the incredible views across Rossnowlagh while catching up with family and friends, and the atmosphere throughout the day was relaxed, joyful, and full of genuine moments.

For photography, this location is truly special. Between the dramatic coastline, the sweeping beach below, and the soft Donegal light, every moment felt cinematic. As the evening continued, the celebrations carried on with plenty of laughter, music and dancing — the perfect ending to such a beautiful day by the sea.
